The roots of AC Episkopi date back to 1956 when it first functioned as a Credit Union, and shortly thereafter as Fruit and Vegetable Products Sales Cooperative started selling and selling peaches, nectarines, apples and pears.
In 1987, according to the provisions of Law 1544/1985, AC Episkopi was established in its current form. In 1992 the Coalition was recognized as a Producer Group under European Regulation 1035/1972. Then various other recognitions of the Cooperative as a Producer Group are updated.
Today AC Episkopi has been recognized and operates as a Producers Organization according to European Union regulations. The Co-operative has 250 members that cultivate 7,000 acres and produce 10,000,000 kilos of products, which are received, classified, standardized and sold by the Co-operative.
Specifically, we produce kiwi, peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, pears, apricots, apples and lotus. 60% of the products are exported to countries such as USA, UAE, Philippines, India, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Spain, Italy etc. The remaining 40% is marketed locally through supermarket chains and selected wholesalers.
The permanent staff of the Cooperative is 10 persons while about 80 persons are seasonally employed.
The Cooperative is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors and a 3-member Supervisor whose term is four years.
